Transitions in Editing
In order to make the changes in location seamless, it is vital to ensure that Esther is in the same position in each location. When filming, Esther and I measured the distance between the tripod, and checked that the camera was not zoomed in every time However for various reasons such as uneven grounds and Esther timing/positioning while dancing has meant that she is in a different place in each shot.
To fix this, I have been using the 'Transform' section to the right of the editing screen. As shown in the images above, I have zoomed in the shots, and repositioned the framing by selecting 'Transform' on the bottom left corner and dragging the frame into the correct position.
The two shots above display a transition in location which I am finding very difficult to edit seamlessly, as if I zoom in any further Esther will be too tall. I also have moved the top frame over as much as possible to the left, meaning I can't zoom out otherwise the previous transition wouldn't be seamless.
I have decided to take note of clips which I am finding particularly hard to edit seamlessly, and then re-film them when I Esther and I next go to London.
